North Carolina districts publish calendars on different schedules. The label on each calendar shows its source status and how firmly families can rely on the listed dates.
Official
An Official label means the page is based on district-published calendar information, such as an adopted PDF, calendar page, or district news release. Check the linked source before making non-refundable travel, childcare, or custody plans.
Draft
A Draft label marks a proposed or preliminary district schedule. Use it for early planning, then check for an adopted calendar before making firm arrangements.
Projected
A Projected label marks estimated dates while a final district calendar is pending. Keep plans flexible until the district publishes its calendar.
When a district has more than one calendar
Some districts publish separate calendars for grade bands, programs, modified schedules, or year-round tracks. The label applies to the calendar option currently selected on the page. Use the selector and confirm the assignment with the school whenever schedules vary.
How to verify an important date
Open the district page, choose the assigned calendar, and review the source link or downloadable PDF. For a newer district-published calendar, send the district name, school year, and source URL through the corrections page.
